Rare 1st Playboy Jazz Festival Chicago 1959 Complete Ticket With Stub Attached. The event was held in the Chicago Stadium at Soldier Field in Chicago, which held 17,000 Jazz fans for each performance, the total for the five performances was about 70,000 fans. Oddly, the next Playboy Jazz Festival Concert was not held again until 1979 at the Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California, and then yearly through 2023.

Some of the Jazz greats performing were Dizzy Gillespie, Dave Brubeck, Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Oscar Peterson, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Sonny Rollins, Nina Simone, Benny Goodman, Coleman Hawkins, and many others, over three days and five performances. The emcee was Mort Sahl. The ticket is printed black and red on orange card stock, approximately 5 1/2" by 2 1/4" in size, used, and with the stub still attached. It is in excellent condition except on the right edge which has some wear, and of course, there are three circular perforations which show the ticket was used.
